Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 1–2 years of experience to support our finance and accounting operations in a construction environment. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, job cost tracking, vendor payments, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Maintain accurate books of accounts including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations
Assist in job cost accounting and tracking project expenses against budgets
Process vendor invoices, subcontractor bills, and payment schedules
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Prepare bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
Track fixed assets, equipment costs, and depreciation
Help prepare basic financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cost reports)
Ensure compliance with tax, GST/VAT, and statutory requirements (as applicable)
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams
Maintain proper documentation for audits and internal controls
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred)
Basic understanding of construction accounting concepts (job costing, WIP, retention)
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Strong knowledge of MS Excel
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with subcontractors and progress billing
Knowledge of Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting
Exposure to audits and statutory compliance
Good communication and teamwork skills
