We are looking for a Junior Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting entries, financial data management, reconciliation, stock verification, and reporting.
The primary responsibility of this role will be accurate and timely data entry in Tally and the company's ERP software, along with maintaining proper records of purchases, sales, transfers, cash flow, outstanding balances, and stock.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Data Entry
Enter and maintain day-to-day accounting transactions in Tally and the company's ERP software.
Record purchase entries, sales entries, transfer entries, cash transactions, and other routine business transactions.
Ensure all entries are accurate, complete, and properly supported by documents.
Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records.
Cross-check data between Tally, ERP, invoices, and supporting documents.
2. Cash Flow Management
Maintain daily records of cash inflow and outflow.
Record cash receipts and payments accurately.
Monitor available cash and maintain proper cash records.
Assist senior management with daily cash flow information and reports.
3. BRS & Data Matching
Assist in preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
Match bank transactions with Tally/ERP records.
Identify differences, missing entries, duplicate entries, and incorrect transactions.
Coordinate with the senior accountant to resolve discrepancies.
4. Purchase, Sales & Transfer Entries
Enter purchase invoices and sales invoices into Tally and ERP.
Record stock transfer and inter-branch/inter-location transactions.
Verify quantities, rates, amounts, and other relevant details before entering transactions.
Ensure transactions are entered on a timely basis.
5. Proforma Invoice & Outstanding Balances
Prepare Proforma Invoices as instructed.
Prepare and maintain customer/vendor due balance reports.
Track outstanding amounts and provide updated due statements when required.
Assist the senior accountant in following up on accounting-related discrepancies.
6. Stock Auditing & Verification
Conduct regular physical stock verification/auditing.
Match physical stock with stock records in the ERP/Tally.
Identify shortages, excess stock, damaged stock, or data discrepancies.
Report stock differences to the senior accountant/management.
Assist in maintaining accurate stock records.
7. Reporting
Prepare regular accounting and data-related reports as required.
Submit daily/weekly reports to the Senior Accountant / Accounts Manager.
Highlight discrepancies, pending entries, outstanding balances, and stock differences.
Maintain proper documentation for all reports and transactions.
Important Note
This position does NOT require GST or tax-related work.
The candidate will not be responsible for GST filing, tax calculations, tax returns, or other statutory tax compliance work. The role is primarily focused on accounting data entry, reconciliation, cash/transaction records, stock verification, and reporting.
Required Skills
Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
Good working knowledge of Tally.
Comfortable working with ERP/accounting software.
Good understanding of purchase, sales, cash, and transfer entries.
Basic understanding of Bank Reconciliation (BRS).
Good Excel/data-entry skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to identify mismatches and discrepancies.
Good numerical and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Willingness to learn the company's ERP system and internal processes.
