Budgeting & Forecasting – Prepare budgets for farming cycles, imports (if applicable), and export markets; forecast sales revenue based on seasonal demand.
Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to GST, TDS, income tax, agriculture-related subsidies, and export-import documentation.
Cash Flow Manageme nt – Monitor inflows from wholesale buyers, retailers, exports, and outflows for suppliers, logistics, and payroll.
Inventory & Stock Valuation – Work with store/warehouse managers to track perishable stock, cold chain costs, wastage, and reconcile physical vs. financial inventory.
Vendor & Customer Accounts – Handle payments to farmers, transporters, and packaging suppliers; manage receivables from hotels, supermarkets, and export clients.
Internal Controls – Implement checks to prevent pilferage, ensure proper billing, and maintain transparency in procurement and sales.
MIS & Reporting – Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cost reports, and management dashboards for decision-making.
Support to Management – Provide insights on pricing strategies, credit terms, and investment in new crops or expansion into new markets.
Record day-to-day transactions in accounting software (Tally/ERP/QuickBooks).
Process invoices, receipts, debit/credit notes related to vegetable procurement and sales.
Maintain payroll for farm workers, drivers, and office staff.
Calculate and file monthly GST returns, handle export incentives, and comply with FSSAI and APEDA-related financial documentation.
Track loans, subsidies, and government schemes for agri-business support.
Assist in audits (internal and statutory) with proper documentation.
Liaise with banks for working capital requirements, LC (Letter of Credit) for imports/exports, and reconciliation of bank statements.
Monitor margins on different vegetables (e.g., lettuce, asparagus, broccoli, zucchini) to identify profitable and loss-making lines.
