Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, processing invoices, preparing vouchers, assisting with statutory compliance, and coordinating with internal departments. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and strong accounting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Record daily accounting transactions in Tally Prime or other accounting software.
Prepare payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and journal vouchers.
Generate sales invoices and process purchase bills.
Maintain Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Perform bank reconciliation and cash book reconciliation.
Assist in GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory compliance.
Maintain vendor and customer ledgers.
Process employee reimbursements and payroll-related accounting entries.
Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial summaries.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
Coordinate with auditors during internal and statutory audits.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Coordinate with stores and production departments for inventory-related accounting.
(Optional) Assist in maintaining and updating Bill of Materials (BOM) records in coordination with the Production, R&D, and Stores departments, ensuring cost data and material records are accurate.
Perform any other accounts and finance-related tasks assigned by management.
Required Skills
Good knowledge of accounting principles.
Hands-on experience with Tally Prime and MS Excel.
Basic understanding of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and payroll accounting.
Knowledge of inventory accounting is preferred.
Basic understanding of BOM (Bill of Materials) management will be an added advantage.
Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Good communication and attention to detail.
Educational Qualification
B. Com / M. Com or equivalent.
Tally certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
Freshers with strong accounting knowledge may also apply.
