Articleship Accountant

Key Responsibilities

1. Bookkeeping and Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.

• Record journal entries and prepare trial balances.

• Reconcile bank statements, customer ledgers, and supplier ledgers.

2. Tax Compliance

• Assist in the preparation of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.

• Support the preparation and filing of income tax returns for clients.

3. Financial Reporting

• Assist in preparing financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account, and Cash Flow Statement.

• Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

4. Client Coordination

• Communicate with clients to collect financial data and address queries.

• Provide support in responding to auditor queries and documentation requirements.

5. Administrative Support

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both physical and digital.

• Assist senior accountants and managers with various administrative and ad hoc tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• CA/CMA/CS Intermediate / B.Com

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, Busy, or Zoho Books.

• Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Regulatory Knowledge

• Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and Income Tax laws.

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
