Analyst - Actuarial Company: Mercer Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Valuation team at Marsh. This role will be based in Gurugram. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. This role sits within the Valuation Services team and supports the delivery of actuarial valuations and related client reporting. The individual will work closely with consultants, analysts, and project managers to ensure membership data is accurate, calculations are performed to specification, and outputs are produced in line with Mercer standards and timelines. We will count on you to: Analyse membership data to identify errors, omissions, and inconsistencies, and reconcile outputs against prior valuations and independent data sources. Perform standard and non-standard calculations as required to support valuation and consulting deliverables. Maintain and update valuation models and datasets using Mercer tools (e.g., GRS, eVolve, Metrix ) and Microsoft Excel, including completing simple basis changes in GRS when required. Prepare clear, standard summaries of data checks, key results, and findings for internal stakeholders (Valuation Services and Consulting Unit contacts) and for clients. Provide day-to-day coordination support to project managers, including tracking actions, timelines, dependencies, and deliverable readiness. What you need to have: Demonstrated experience working with large datasets, including data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including formulas, data checks, and structured analysis) and comfort using multiple systems/tools. Ability to perform calculations accurately and follow defined processes, documentation standards, and quality controls. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across stakeholders and timelines. What makes you stand out? Prior experience supporting actuarial valuations, pensions/benefits work, or financial/analytical services in a client-delivery environment. Hands-on experience with GRS and/or Mercer-standard tools such as eVolve and Metrix . Ability to proactively identify process improvements (e.g., enhancing data checks, templates, or automation) to improve quality and turnaround time.
