Job Title: Accounts Manager

Job Summary

The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective management of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities. The role plays a key part in budgeting, audits, and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Operations

• Manage and supervise daily accounting activities, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing

• Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards

• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST/VAT, TDS, Income Tax, etc.)

• Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits

• Handle tax filings, assessments, and statutory submissions

Budgeting & Reporting

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Provide financial insights to support management decisions

• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor the accounts team

• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors/customers

• Resolve accounting discrepancies and disputes

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance

• CA / CMA / CPA / MBA (Finance) preferred

Experience

• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience

• At least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation

• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.)

• Advanced MS Excel skills

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports

• Compliance with statutory deadlines

• Effective cash flow management

• Audit observations and closure
