Job Description: Senior Accounts Manager / Sr. Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Manager / Sr. Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our restaurant chain. The Senior Accounts Manager / Sr. Accountant will play a critical role in managing the accounting department, ensuring financial accuracy, and optimizing financial performance within the hospitality industry. This position requires a deep understanding of financial management in a restaurant environment, along with strong leadership skills and the ability to work closely with various departments to ensure efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions for the restaurant operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Record and maintain accurate financial data related to the restaurant's daily operations.
Monitor and reconcile all financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and inventory.
Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain accurate records.
Assist in the development and management of annual budgets.
Ensure accuracy of financial records, including preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring targets are met.
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and requirements in Dubai. Prepare and file tax returns as necessary.
Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics such as revenue, costs, and profitability.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Cost Control and Profitability:
Monitor and analyse cost structures across all areas of the restaurant business, including food, beverage, labour and overhead costs.
Implement cost-saving measures and assist in the development of strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in implementing inventory control procedures.
Conduct regular audits to minimize losses and ensure accurate inventory valuation
Work closely with the operations team to identify and address any financial inefficiencies.
Cash Flow Management:
Ensure effective cash flow management, optimizing liquidity and ensuring that the restaurants have sufficient working capital to meet operational needs.
Oversee banking relationships, including managing cash deposits and withdrawals.
Internal Controls and Auditing:
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensuring that financial procedures and policies are followed.
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and records are in order and audit-ready.
Conduct well-timed regular audits to ensure all financial records and documentation are up-to-date
Technology and Process Improvement:
Evaluate and implement accounting software and systems that improve operational efficiency and ensure accuracy.
Stay updated on emerging industry trends and technologies that can improve financial reporting and analysis.
Team Management and Development:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring that they are motivated, well-trained, and aligned with company goals.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing professional development opportunities to the accounting team.
Foster a collaborative work environment with other departments, particularly with restaurant management, to ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
A minimum of 7years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role, ideally in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
Strong understanding of financial operations, including cost control, labour management, and profitability analysis.
Excellent knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with restaurant-specific accounting systems (e.g., POS systems) is a plus.
Proven ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
