Accountant

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of experience to anchor our finance operations and lead statutory compliance in our Mangalore office. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Indian accounting standards, taxation laws, and end-to-end management of all regulatory filings and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Statutory & Regulatory Compliance Management:

• Independently manage and ensure compliance with all applicable statutory laws, including Income Tax (TDS/TCS), GST, Companies Act provisions, and other financial regulations.

• Lead the preparation and timely submission of all tax returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, TDS returns) and ensure accurate computation of tax liabilities.

• Manage the entire process for statutory and internal audits, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors, providing necessary documentation, and resolving queries.

Financial & Accounting Operations:

• Oversee and maintain the full spectrum of accounting records (GL, AP, AR) on Tally ERP or similar advanced accounting software, ensuring high standards of accuracy.

• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS/AS).

• Develop and present detailed Management Information System (MIS) reports to senior leadership, providing strategic financial insights and variance analysis

• Perform complex bank, inter-company, and major ledger reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of financial data.

Process Improvement & Advisory:

• Proactively advise management on implications of new financial laws, tax amendments, and regulatory changes.

• Identify and implement best practices in accounting processes and internal financial controls to enhance efficiency and reduce compliance risk.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Professional qualification (CA/CMA Inter or CA/CMA Final) is a significant advantage.

• Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrable, hands-on experience in core accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance within an established organization.

Technical Expertise (Mandatory):

• Expert-level knowledge of the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and GST laws with proven experience in handling full-cycle compliance and audit procedures.

• Strong working knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS/AS).

• High proficiency in Tally ERP/Prime and advanced skills in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Excellent communication skills for effectively liaising with auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
