About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, taxation, financial reporting, and account finalization. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in GST, TDS, bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, balance sheet preparation, and year-end finalization.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain day-to-day accounting entries, including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments.
Maintain general ledger, journal entries, cash book and bank book.
Perform regular bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
Verify invoices, bills, expenses and supporting documents.
Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
2. GST Compliance
Handle day-to-day GST-related accounting and documentation.
Prepare and file GST returns such as GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable returns.
Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records/books.
Monitor input tax credit and identify discrepancies.
Maintain GST records and supporting documentation.
Assist in GST audits, notices and departmental requirements.
3. TDS & Income Tax
Calculate and account for TDS on applicable payments.
Prepare and file periodic TDS returns.
Generate and maintain TDS certificates and related records.
Reconcile TDS payable and deposited amounts.
Assist the CA/consultant in income-tax compliance, assessments and notices.
4. Financial Statements & Finalization
Prepare Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
Assist in monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
Handle year-end accounting and finalization of books of accounts.
Pass year-end adjustment and closing entries.
Prepare schedules and supporting statements required for finalization.
Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant/auditor during statutory audit and finalization.
5. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare periodic financial and accounting reports.
Provide information related to sales, purchases, expenses, receivables, payables and cash flows.
Assist management in monitoring expenses and financial performance.
Prepare basic MIS reports as required.
6. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure timely compliance with statutory deadlines.
Maintain proper records of invoices, tax returns, challans, reconciliations and financial documents.
Keep accounting and statutory records organized and audit-ready.
Assist in responding to queries from auditors, CA, tax consultants and government authorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Graduate degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance preferred.
2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong practical knowledge of GST and TDS.
Hands-on experience in finalization of accounts and preparation of financial statements.
Good knowledge of Tally Prime / Tally ERP.
Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
Knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
Good reconciliation and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet statutory deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
