Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records, transactions, and reporting for a real estate office. This role ensures accuracy in financial documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements, while also supporting the team with timely and insightful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

• Track income and expenses related to property sales, rentals, and management.

• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow.

• Manage invoicing, billing, and collections for clients and vendors.

• Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with tax laws, licensing, and local regulations.

• Process payroll and related records, including commissions for agents.

• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.

• Support property management team with rent roll reports and lease tracking.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2+ years of accounting experience (real estate industry preferred).

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, Buildium).

• Strong understanding of real estate transactions and commission structures.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Knowledge of local real estate financial regulations and tax implications.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with CRM and real estate management platforms.

• Strong communication and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
