Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, financial reporting, and supporting management with accurate financial data. The role requires strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance applicable to construction and project-based companies.
Key Responsibilities
• Accounting & Finance
• Maintain books of accounts including cash, bank, ledger, and journal entries
• Finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts
• Preparation of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and Cash Flow Statements
• Monitor project-wise costing, expenses, and profitability
• Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer accounts
• Taxation & Compliance
• Handle GST compliance including returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation)
• Ensure timely TDS deduction, payment, and filing of returns
• Support Income Tax filings and assessments
• Ensure statutory compliance under Companies Act, PF, ESI, and other applicable laws
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities
• Payroll & Vendor Management
• Oversee payroll processing, salary sheets, and statutory deductions
• Manage vendor payments, invoices, and ageing reports
• Ensure timely payment to suppliers and subcontractors
•• MIS & Reporting•
• Prepare MIS reports for management review
• Analyze financial data and highlight cost-saving opportunities
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning
•• Required Skills & Competencies•
• Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles & Indian Taxation
• Hands-on experience with Tally / ERP software
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Reports)
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Good communication and coordination skills
Qualifications
• B.Com / M.Com (CA Inter preferred)
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in construction / engineering / project-based companies
Preferred Experience
• Experience in construction billing, project accounting, and site expenses
• Handling audits and statutory filings independently
