Job Title: Accountant

Position Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Accountant to manage our daily financial operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience and a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of all financial documentation, particularly regarding tax compliance and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Goods and Services Tax (GST) Compliance: Accurately prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-4, etc.) within the stipulated deadlines. [1] Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and address any GST-related queries or audits.

• Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.

• Billing and Invoicing: Manage the end-to-end billing process, which includes preparing and issuing sales invoices (bills), tracking receivables, and following up on outstanding payments.

• Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular and thorough bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accounted for and accurately recorded in the accounting software. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

• General Accounting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger.

  • Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors.

  • Review expense reports and other financial documents for accuracy.

  • Assist with the annual audit process.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification is a plus.

• Experience:

  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or similar financial role.

  • Demonstrable experience with GST filing procedures and compliance.

  • Proficiency in preparing complete balance sheets and other core financial statements.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Tally Prime.

  • Knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
