Position: Accountant
Location: Mugappair West, Chennai (On-site)
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations including ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
Handle import documentation accounting, Letter of Credit (LC) entries, and foreign currency transactions
Prepare financial statements, GST returns (including IGST on imports), TDS filings, and customs duty compliance
Manage accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments (domestic & international), and customer billing
Coordinate with banks for forex transactions, remittances, and trade finance documentation
Reconcile inventory records with physical stock and manage warehouse accounting
Coordinate with auditors for internal and statutory audits
Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), FEMA regulations, and company policies
Preparation of MIS Statement and Cost sheet on a monthly basis.
Ledger reconciliation and Bank account reconciliation.
Reconciling Accounts receivables and payables everyday.
Raising Purchase Order, Performa Invoice, Sales Invoices.
GST Filing and Book Keeping.
Handled preparation and filing of TDS returns, ensuring timely compliance with statutory
requirements.
Ensured accurate calculation, preparation, and filing of TDS & GST returns in line with current tax laws.

Requirements

Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA (Inter or Final)
Experience: Minimum 2 years in accounting/finance roles, preferably in import/trading/stockiest business
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tally ERP 9/Prime, MS Excel (advanced), GST portal, and income tax filings
Import-Specific Knowledge: Understanding of import procedures, customs duties, IGST on imports, foreign currency accounting, and banking documentation (LCs, BGs)
Soft Skills: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, integrity, and ability to work independently
