Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant who can independently manage day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, and financial processes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Zoho Books, GST, TDS, PT, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate day-to-day accounting entries in Zoho Books
Pass journal entries and ensure proper ledger classification
Manage general ledger and ensure completeness of financial records
Handle daily accounting operations including sales, purchase, and expense entries
2. Billing & Invoicing
Generate invoices, credit notes, and debit notes accurately
Ensure proper GST application on all invoices
Coordinate with internal teams for billing accuracy and timelines
3. Bank, Credit Card & Cash Reconciliation
Perform bank reconciliation on a regular basis
Handle credit card reconciliation and track expenses
Manage cash transactions and petty cash records
Identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly
4. Taxation & Compliance
Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)
Handle TDS calculation, filing, and reconciliation
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, PT)
Maintain proper documentation for audits and filings
5. Payroll Management
Process monthly payroll with accuracy
Ensure statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, TDS) are correctly applied
Coordinate with HR for employee data and salary structures
6. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage vendor payments and track due dates
Follow up on receivables and maintain aging reports
Ensure timely collections and proper documentation
7. Financial Reporting
Assist in preparation of monthly MIS reports
Support in preparing P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow reports
Provide data for audits and financial reviews
8. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Ensure adherence to company financial processes
Suggest improvements in accounting workflows and systems
Maintain confidentiality and data integrity
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field
2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of Zoho Books (preferred)
Good understanding of GST, TDS, and payroll processes
Proficiency in Excel and basic financial reporting
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced, process-driven environment
Preferred Skills
Experience in inventory-based or trading/manufacturing companies
Familiarity with Zoho ecosystem (Zoho Inventory, Zoho Payroll, etc.)
Strong reconciliation and audit handling skills
