Job Description – Accounts Assistant (with GST Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant with GST expertise to support the finance team in daily accounting operations. The role involves handling accounting entries, GST compliance, invoicing, reconciliations, and assisting in financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in Tally/ERP system.
Record purchase, sales, journal vouchers, debit/credit notes, and expense vouchers.
Maintain vendor and customer ledgers with proper documentation.
GST Compliance
Preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) within timelines.
Reconciliation of GSTR-2A/2B with purchase registers.
Assist in GST audits, notices, and compliance-related queries.
Ensure proper application of Input Tax Credit (ITC) rules.
Banking & Reconciliation
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
Monitor vendor payments, advances, and outstanding balances.
Assist in petty cash handling and fund flow tracking.
Invoice & Documentation
Prepare and verify sales invoices as per GST guidelines.
Maintain proper records of e-invoices and e-way bills.
Ensure statutory compliance with tax rules and company policies.
Support in Financial Reporting
Assist senior accountants in preparing trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet.
Generate MIS reports as required by management.
Provide support during statutory audits.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: B.Com/M.Com, or equivalent qualification in Accounting/Finance.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in accounting, with hands-on GST knowledge.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Tally ERP / MS Excel.
Knowledge of GST portal operations (returns filing, challans, reconciliation).
Soft Skills:
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
