Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to lead our accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will handle high-level accounting tasks, financial statement preparation, and oversight of accounts payable and receivable, playing a key role in financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

   • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with [GAAP/IFRS/other relevant standards].

   • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and provide insights for budget planning and forecasting.

   • Generate and present financial reports to management, supporting strategic financial decisions.

2. General Ledger Management

   • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

   • Perform and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments as needed.

   • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

   • Manage the accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.

   • Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies in AP/AR and liaise with vendors and clients as necessary.

   • Monitor and maintain proper aging schedules to manage cash flow effectively.

4. Compliance & Audit

   • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and all relevant tax and regulatory requirements.

   • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation.

   • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards, implementing updates as necessary.

5. Process Improvement

   • Identify and implement process improvements within accounting procedures and systems.

   • Develop, document, and maintain efficient and effective accounting policies and procedures.

   • Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial reporting processes and system integrations.

6. Team Leadership & Support

   • Train and mentor junior accountants, sharing best practices in accounting and financial management.

   • Provide guidance and support to the finance team on complex accounting issues.

   • Support the team with day-to-day financial operations and handle ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA, CMA).

• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

• Strong knowledge of [GAAP/IFRS/other relevant standards] and tax regulations.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative approach.
