The Role
As our Accountant, you will own the day-to-day books of a fast-growing, multi-channel business. You will make sure every rupee is recorded accurately, every filing goes in on time, and leadership always has a clear view of the numbers. You will work closely with the founders, operations, e-commerce and franchise teams, as well as our external CA.
Key Responsibilities
1. Bookkeeping & Accounts
Maintain accurate books of accounts: journal entries, ledgers, bank and cash books
Record sales, purchases, expenses and vendor bills on time
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, customer collections and ageing reports
Maintain the fixed asset register and record depreciation
2. Reconciliations
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Reconcile payment gateway and marketplace settlements (Razorpay, Amazon, Flipkart, quick-commerce), including commissions, fees, returns and RTO deductions
Reconcile courier COD remittances and logistics invoices
Reconcile restaurant POS sales and franchise royalty or fee collections
Reconcile inter-company and related-party balances across group entities
3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2B, and keep e-invoicing and e-way bills compliant
Handle TDS deduction, payment and quarterly returns, and issue Form 16 and 16A
Track TCS credits from e-commerce operators
Support ROC filings, statutory audit, tax audit and income tax returns with our CA
Keep a compliance calendar so no deadline is missed
4. Payroll Support
Process monthly payroll inputs, reimbursements and full-and-final settlements
Handle PF, ESIC, Professional Tax and other statutory payroll deductions and filings
5. MIS & Reporting
Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
Build channel-wise and brand-wise profitability reports (website, marketplaces, restaurants, franchise, sub-brands)
Track budgets against actuals and flag cost overruns
Prepare cash flow forecasts and working capital reports for leadership
6. Controls & Audit
Run month-end and year-end closing
Maintain proper documentation for every transaction, ready for audit at any time
Set up and follow internal controls for approvals, payments and expense claims
Coordinate with auditors, the CA and bankers
Who We're Looking For
B.Com, M.Com, or CA Inter / CMA Inter (a qualified CA is a plus for senior candidates)
3–6 years of accounting experience, ideally in e-commerce, D2C, FMCG, retail or F&B
Hands-on with Tally Prime or Zoho Books, and advanced Excel (pivots, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations)
Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, payroll compliance and Indian accounting standards
Experience with marketplace and payment gateway reconciliations is highly preferred
Meticulous, deadline-driven, and completely trustworthy with confidential information
Good communication in English, Hindi and Gujarati or Marathi
Good to have: experience with franchise or restaurant accounting, multi-entity books, ERP migration, or working directly with founders in a startup.
