The Wiring Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role involves interpreting electrical diagrams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and working with various types of cables and wiring systems.
Install and route electrical wiring in accordance with blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Assemble, connect, and test electrical systems and control panels.
Perform maintenance and repairs on existing wiring systems and electrical components.
Inspect wiring installations to ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
Identify and troubleshoot wiring problems using testing devices such as multimeters.
Safely use hand tools and power tools related to wiring tasks.
Maintain documentation of wiring installations and service reports.
Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and project teams to execute wiring plans.
Follow strict safety protocols to avoid hazards and accidents.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma in Electrical or Electronics preferred.
Proven experience in electrical wiring or a similar technician role.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
Familiarity with national electrical codes and safety regulations.
Proficient in using tools like wire strippers, crimpers, soldering irons, etc.
Physical ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and on construction sites.
Certification or license as an electrician or wiring technician (if applicable by region).
Experience with fiber optic or data wiring (if required for the role).
Knowledge of automation, control systems, or PLC wiring.
May involve work in indoor and outdoor environments.
Requires physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
May require overtime, night shifts, or weekend work depending on project timelines.
