Job Description: Junior Architect
Role Overview:
A Junior Architect supports senior architects and the design team across various phases of architectural projects. This entry-level role offers opportunities for hands-on experience in design development, project documentation, site analysis, and client coordination, ideally suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to grow in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
· Assist senior architects in developing architectural designs for diverse projects.
· Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and supporting documents using CAD and (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
· Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and objectives.
· Conduct site visits, gather data, and assist with site analysis and project execution.
· Research materials, building codes, and new construction methods to support project compliance.
· Draft and organize construction documentation, proposals, and presentations.
· Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate deliverables.
· Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal building regulations.
· Participate in reviews, brainstorming sessions, and project coordination meetings.
· Assist in planning, zoning analysis, and form development during the early design stages
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent.
· 0–5 years of experience in architectural design or related fields (internships included).
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and preference for familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
· Strong portfolio demonstrating design and technical skills.
· Basic understanding of building codes, construction processes, and architectural trends.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn new concepts.
· Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently, sometimes working under tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
· 3D modeling experience.
· Familiarity with construction documentation and project management basics.
