Role Description

Ambient Spaces is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS), Tendering & Billing Engineer to join our team full-time in New Delhi. This on-site role will be responsible for managing the entire cost control process — from estimation and tendering to project billing and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, tender documentation, and end-to-end billing for interior fit-out and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quantity Surveying & Cost Estimation

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions.

• Conduct rate analysis and cost estimation for materials, labor, and subcontracted works.

• Maintain updated cost data, market rates, and material price lists.

• Support the design and project teams with budgetary estimates during the pre-construction stage.

2. Tendering & Bidding

• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope and requirements.

• Prepare, review, and submit tenders, bids, and proposals in coordination with management.

• Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.

• Conduct technical and commercial evaluations to ensure compliance with tender requirements.

• Maintain records of tender clarifications, queries, and correspondence with clients and consultants.

3. Billing & Documentation

• Prepare client and subcontractor bills (RA & final bills) with proper measurement records and supporting documentation.

• Verify and certify site measurements, material consumption, and executed quantities.

• Ensure accurate and timely submission of bills in line with contract terms.

• Handle cost variations, extra item analysis, and rate justifications.

• Coordinate with the accounts and project teams for payment follow-ups and reconciliation.

4. Cost Control & Financial Reporting

• Track project costs against budgets and forecasts.

• Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow statements, and reconciliation reports.

• Identify cost deviations and assist in corrective actions to ensure project profitability.

5. Coordination & Compliance

• Collaborate with project management, design, and procurement teams to align commercial and technical deliverables.

• Maintain proper documentation of contracts, correspondence, and tender/billing records.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

• 3–8 years of experience in quantity surveying, tendering, and billing for interior fit-out or construction projects.

• Proficiency in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and billing procedures.

• Strong understanding of tender documentation, rate analysis, and contract management.

• Skilled in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation/billing software (e.g., Candy, Primavera, or similar).

• Excellent analytical, numerical, and documentation skills.

• Strong communication and negotiation abilities for client and vendor interactions.

• Ability to multitask and meet strict project deadlines.
