What You'll Be Doing:

Taking Charge of Purchases

• You'll oversee the entire purchasing journey, especially for our most important or high-value items, from the moment someone asks for something until it's safely delivered.

• You'll handle all the paperwork, making sure purchase orders are spot-on and fit within our budget.

• You'll keep a close eye on orders, chasing them up to make sure they arrive on time and sorting out any hiccups along the way.

• Keeping detailed and accurate records of all our purchases and pricing will be key.

Nurturing Supplier Relationships

• You'll be the detective who finds, checks out, and picks new suppliers based on how good their products are, their prices, how reliable they are, and how quickly they can deliver.

• Building and maintaining strong, lasting relationships with our main suppliers will be a big part of your day.

• You'll regularly check in with suppliers to see how they're performing and help them improve if needed.

• You'll lead the talks with suppliers to get us the best possible prices, terms, and conditions.

Smart Sourcing & Saving Money

• You'll research the market to discover new products, services, and potential suppliers that could benefit us.

• You'll come up with clever ways to source items strategically, helping us save money and work more efficiently.

• You'll analyze what we're spending to find opportunities to combine purchases or standardize what we buy, making things simpler and more cost-effective.

• You'll bring in the best ways of doing things in purchasing to make our supply chain as effective as possible.

Staying Compliant & Managing Risks

• You'll make sure all our buying activities follow company rules, procedures, and ethical standards.

• You'll stay up-to-date on industry rules and make sure our purchasing practices are always legally sound.

• You'll identify and tackle potential problems in our supply chain, like if a supplier can't deliver or if there are quality issues.

Leading & Mentoring Your Team

• You'll guide, support, and mentor our junior purchase officers and other procurement staff.

• You'll help train new team members on our purchasing processes and systems.

• You'll work hand-in-hand with other departments (like Finance, Production, and Sales) to understand what they need and ensure our purchasing support is seamless.

Reporting & Analyzing

• You'll prepare and share regular reports on our purchasing activities, how much money we've saved, and how our suppliers are performing.

• You'll dig into procurement data to spot trends, find new opportunities, and figure out where we can get better.

• You'll play a part in developing and putting into action our overall purchasing strategies and goals.
