A picker packer's primary responsibility is to efficiently fulfill customer orders by selecting, packing, and preparing items for shipment in a warehouse or distribution center. This involves locating products, verifying quantities, packing them securely, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Picking: Locate and retrieve products from shelves or storage areas based on customer orders.
Packing: Select appropriate packaging materials, pack items securely to prevent damage during transit, and label packages correctly.
Order Fulfillment: Ensure that customer orders are accurately picked and packed, with the correct quantities and items.
Inventory Management: Use scanners and computer systems to update inventory records and track product movement.
Safety: Adhere to workplace safety standards and report any potential hazards.
Quality Control: Inspect products for damage or defects before packing.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient order fulfillment.
Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors.
Physical Tasks: Lift and move boxes and other materials, potentially requiring physical stamina.
