Key Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Motor Vehicle Act, Factory Act, etc.).

• Monitoring & Inspections

  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, equipment, and transport yards.

  • Check driver fitness, vehicle documents, and roadworthiness before dispatch.

• Training & Awareness

  • Organize safety training programs for drivers, loaders, and logistics staff.

  • Promote awareness of defensive driving, fatigue management, and emergency response.

• Incident Management

  • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices.

  • Prepare reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.

• Risk Assessment

  • Identify hazards in transport operations (e.g., overloading, poor road conditions).

  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce accidents and delays.

• Coordination

• Liaise with Tata Steel’s logistics department, contractors, and external agencies.

• Ensure contractors and third-party transporters follow Tata Steel’s safety standards.

Requirement Details

Education Diploma/Degree in Safety Management, Industrial Safety, or related field

Experience 1–2 years in logistics/transport safety, preferably in steel or heavy industry

Knowledge Road safety laws, Safety protocols, hazard identification
