The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen and service areas. This includes washing dishes and utensils, cleaning kitchen equipment, assisting with food storage, and supporting kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas.
Ensure all cleaning materials and supplies are properly stocked and stored.
Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
Maintain hygiene and safety standards as per company policies and local health regulations.
Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation when needed.
Handle all kitchen equipment carefully and report any malfunctions immediately.
Follow proper procedures for chemical handling and cleaning operations.
Ensure the back-of-house area is always neat, clean, and organized.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as a steward, dishwasher, or cleaner in a hospitality or food service environment is an advantage.
Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and physically demanding environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 kg (50 lbs).
Comfortable working in wet, humid, or hot conditions.
