Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive Area Sales Executive with hands-on experience in General Trade to drive secondary and primary sales, manage distribution partners, and expand retail presence in the assigned territory. The role requires someone with strong market knowledge, a track record of achieving sales targets, and the ability to execute trade marketing initiatives efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Target Achievement:
Achieve sales targets (primary & secondary) for the assigned area.
Drive product availability and visibility across all relevant retail outlets.
Ensure consistent order booking and timely supply to distributors/retailers.
2. Distributor & Retailer Management:
Manage and motivate distributors to ensure product availability and timely servicing of retail outlets.
Monitor distributor stock levels, claims, and performance.
Build strong relationships with key retailers to secure shelf space and visibility.
3. Market Development:
Identify new business opportunities and onboard new retail outlets or channels.
Expand numeric and weighted distribution within the assigned territory.
4. Execution of Trade Marketing Activities:
Implement trade promotions and ensure retailer participation.
Place and maintain promotional materials, displays, and signage.
Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure timely execution of campaigns.
5. Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Monitor competitor activities and provide timely feedback to management.
Share regular sales and market reports, insights, and action plans.
Use market feedback to recommend improvements in product or distribution strategy.
6. Retailer Engagement & Servicing:
Address retailer issues and concerns promptly.
Educate retailers on new products, schemes, and promotions.
Conduct regular market visits and beat plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
4-8 years of experience in General Trade sales, preferably in [FMCG].
Strong distributor and retail network knowledge in the assigned geography.
Experience in managing trade schemes, secondary sales tracking, and field execution.
Skills Required:

Data-driven approach to decision-making and sales analysis.

Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and sales tracking apps.
