Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for expanding market presence by appointing high-potential dealers, driving B2C sales to poultry & cattle farmers, and ensuring consistent revenue growth in the assigned territory. The role requires strong networking with farmers, vets, and channel partners along with hands-on field activity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dealer Development & Channel Expansion
Identify, screen, and appoint new dealers/distributors in potential markets.
Evaluate dealer capability, creditworthiness, and market reach.
Ensure proper onboarding, product training, and sales orientation.
Build strong relationships to secure consistent orders and timely payments.
Monitor dealer performance and take corrective actions where required.
2. B2C Sales to Poultry & Cattle Farms
Conduct farm visits to understand farmer requirements and recommend suitable supplements.
Generate on-ground enquiries and convert directly into sales.
Conduct demos, farmer meetings, and product awareness sessions.
Build rapport with key influencers: veterinarians, nutritionists, consultants, and farm owners.
3. Sales Achievement & Market Growth
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (Dealer + Direct).
Develop beat plans for systematic field coverage.
Execute promotional activities and monitor product visibility.
Track competitor products, pricing, and market movements.
4. Reporting & Coordination
Submit daily market visit reports, sales forecasts.
Coordinate with the supply chain team for timely product delivery.
Work closely with management to implement growth strategies.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of poultry/cattle feed supplements.
Proven experience in dealer appointment & rural/agri sales.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Result-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable with extensive field travel.
Ability to conduct farmer meetings and technical product demonstrations.
Education
B. Pharma (Preferred) or Graduate in any field.
Preference for candidates with a degree/diploma in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, or related fields.
