Provide one-on-one academic counselling and support to students.
Assist students in developing individualized academic plans based on their goals, abilities, and program requirements.
Guide students in course selection, program changes, and degree requirements.
Identify and support students experiencing academic difficulties or at risk of underperforming.
Refer students to appropriate campus resources such as tutoring, mental health services, or career counselling.
Monitor and track student academic progress and follow up as needed.
Conduct academic workshops, orientation sessions, and seminars.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records and counselling documentation.
Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student academic success.
Stay updated on institutional policies, academic programs, and curriculum changes.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Previous experience in academic advising, student counselling, or higher education.
Strong knowledge of academic policies, curriculum planning, and learning strategies.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse student populations.
Organizational and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with student information systems and academic management tools.
Knowledge of learning disabilities and educational accommodations.
Experience in counselling students in high schools, colleges, or universities.
Multilingual abilities are an asset.
Certification in counselling or academic advising (if applicable).
Office setting within a school, college, or university.
May require occasional evenings or weekends during peak advising periods or student events.
