Job Summary:
The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring that buildings and their services meet the needs of the people who work in them. This role involves overseeing building maintenance, managing space utilization, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating office systems to promote a safe, secure, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all facilities.
Supervise facility staff, contractors, and service providers (cleaning, HVAC, security, etc.).
Develop and manage budgets related to facilities operations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including health, safety, and environmental standards.
Manage space planning and workplace organization, including office moves and refurbishments.
Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Respond to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
Ensure proper inventory of supplies and equipment for maintenance and operations.
Monitor energy usage and implement energy-saving strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
1–2 years of experience in facility management or building operations.
Strong knowledge of building systems (VAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of CMMS or facility management software is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Facility Management (e.g., FMP , CFM, or IFMA membership).
Experience managing large or multi-site facilities.
Knowledge of sustainable building practices.
