Job Description: Staff Nurse

Job Summary:
The Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to all participants of the swimming academy, including children and adults. This includes conducting pre-participation health assessments, managing on-site medical emergencies, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
Responsibilities:
Pre-participation Health Assessments:
· Conduct thorough medical history assessments for all new participants.
· Perform physical examinations, including height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate measurements.
· Identify any underlying medical conditions or risk factors that may impact swimming participation.
· Administer necessary vaccinations or immunizations as per local health regulations.
· Provide written clearance for participation based on assessment findings.
· Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all participants.
On-Site Medical Care:
· Provide immediate medical attention for injuries or illnesses occurring on the Centers premises.
· Administer first aid and CPR as needed.
· Manage and coordinate emergency medical services when necessary.
· Maintain a well-stocked first aid kit and emergency medical equipment.
· Educate staff and participants on basic first aid and safety procedures.
Health and Safety:
· Monitor water quality and pool hygiene to prevent waterborne illnesses.
· Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
· Conduct regular safety inspections of the Centre's premises.
· Provide health education and awareness programs for participants and staff.
Record Keeping:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all participants.
· Prepare regular reports on health-related incidents and statistics.
· Comply with data privacy and confidentiality regulations.
Collaboration:
· Collaborate with the center management and staff to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
· Work closely with external healthcare providers as needed.
Qualifications and Certifications:
· Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in India.
· Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
· Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
· Experience in pediatric and adult care preferred.
· Experience in sports medicine or occupational health preferred.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
Additional Considerations:
· Emergency Preparedness: Develop a comprehensive emergency response plan.
· Staff Training: Conduct regular training sessions for all staff on first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures.
· Equipment and Supplies: Ensure adequate medical equipment and supplies are available.
· Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of participant medical information.
Compliances:
· Adherence to all applicable Indian healthcare laws and regulations.
· Ensure compliance with specific state/territory health regulations.
· Obtain written parental consent for medical treatment for minors.
· Adherence to child protection and safeguarding policies.
Working Hours:
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
