The ICU Nurse provides critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. Working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, the ICU Nurse is responsible for closely monitoring patients, administering treatments, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
Monitor and assess critically ill patients, recording vital signs and observing for any changes in condition.
Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and life-saving treatments as prescribed.
Operate and monitor critical care equipment (e.g., ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps).
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations, including Code Blue and Rapid Response calls.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding care plans and procedures.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
Education: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN); BSN preferred.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State]; BLS and ACLS certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in critical care or ICU preferred.
