Job Summary:

The ICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate, and critical nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This role requires advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and a strong ability to work in high-pressure environments. The ICU nurse collaborates with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.

• Monitor, assess, and document vital signs, neurological status, and other clinical indicators.

• Administer medications, including IV drips, sedatives, and emergency drugs, as prescribed.

• Operate and manage life-support equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, and monitors.

• Respond promptly to emergencies and assist with resuscitation and code blue situations.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

• Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.

• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.

• Participate in ongoing education, training, and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Diploma in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • BSN preferred.

• Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State/Country].

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

  • CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification is an advantage.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in ICU or critical care nursing preferred.

  • New graduates may be considered with strong clinical rotation experience and training.
