Job Summary:

The Animal Feeding and Rescue Supervisor will oversee and manage the daily operations related to feeding, care, and rescue of animals under the Royser Foundation’s Veterinary Program. This role is crucial in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of rescued animals through proper nutrition, humane handling, and effective rescue response coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Animal Feeding and Care:

• Supervise and schedule daily feeding routines for all animals in the shelter or foster network.

• Ensure dietary plans are followed for each species or individual animal based on veterinary recommendations.

• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of feeding areas, water bowls, and food storage facilities.

• Monitor animal behavior and health during feeding; report any irregularities to the veterinary team.

Rescue Operations:

• Coordinate and execute animal rescue operations in response to distress calls or planned initiatives.

• Liaise with local authorities, community members, and veterinary teams during rescue missions.

• Ensure the safe transportation and handling of animals from the field to shelter or medical facilities.

• Maintain detailed records of all rescues, including location, condition, and immediate actions taken.

Team Management and Training:

• Supervise animal care assistants, volunteers, and field rescuers.

• Train staff and volunteers in proper feeding techniques, animal handling, and rescue protocols.

• Conduct regular meetings and briefings to ensure team alignment with program goals.

Inventory and Reporting:

• Monitor inventory of food supplies, supplements, and feeding equipment; coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.

• Prepare daily and weekly reports on feeding schedules, rescue activities, and animal status.

• Maintain accurate records for auditing and program evaluation.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• +2/Graduate in any field

• Minimum 1 year of experience in animal care, feeding, or rescue operations.

• Experience working with NGOs, shelters, or animal welfare organizations is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

• Flexible working hours, including early mornings, weekends, and on-call emergencies.

• Outdoor work and travel required for rescue missions.

• Interaction with distressed, injured, or aggressive animals.
