The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing, receiving, storing, and issuing construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site. Ensures proper documentation, inventory control, and compliance with company procedures for all mechanical materials.
Receive, inspect, and verify materials delivered to the site.
Maintain accurate records of material receipts and issues (GRN, MIR, MRN, etc.).
Ensure proper storage and identification of materials, fittings, pipes, valves, consumables, and tools.
Maintain daily stock register (manual or ERP-based).
Issue materials to site engineers/supervisors as per approved material requisitions.
Conduct periodic stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure safe handling and storage of mechanical items and tools.
Maintain records of returnable and non-returnable items.
Coordinate with purchase and accounts departments for material reconciliation.
Tag materials with identification numbers for easy traceability.
Monitor the usage of consumables and report shortages in advance.
Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the store area.
Knowledge of construction materials (piping, fittings, fasteners, valves, etc.)
Familiarity with mechanical drawings and material codes.
Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory software (ERP/SAP preferred).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Attention to detail and safety awareness.
Education: Diploma / ITI / Graduate in any discipline (preferably Mechanical).
Experience: 3–7 years in store management in a mechanical or construction company.
