Material Handling:
Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
Transport tools, inserts, and parts to and from the VMC machine.
Assist in loading jobs on the machine table as per the operator’s instructions.
Machine Cleaning & Maintenance:
Clean the machine surface, tool holders, and workspace regularly.
Dispose of metal chips, coolant waste, and other debris properly.
Maintain cleanliness around the machine area to prevent hazards.
Tool & Insert Assistance:
Hand over tools, inserts, or measuring instruments as per operator’s need.
Check and keep stock of basic tools like Allen keys, spanners, etc.
Assist in minor tool changing (under supervision).
Job Setup Support:
Support operator during job setup and clamping/unclamping.
Hold components and fixtures while the operator aligns or sets the job.
Apply coolant/oil as required during setup.
Inspection & Measurements:
Assist in basic measurements like using vernier calipers or scales.
Report any visual defects, burrs, or damage to components.
Help in separating OK and Not-OK components as directed.
Documentation Assistance:
Help in filling basic records like job completion quantity, rejection count, etc.
Tag and label finished components if instructed.
Safety & Discipline:
Always wear proper PPE (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles).
Follow safety instructions given by the operator or supervisor.
Do not operate machines independently unless trained and approved.
Support to Operator:
Be available to help the machine operator throughout the shift.
Assist in continuous running of the machine by quick support.
Ensure the operator does not waste time in small tasks.
