Job Title: Lathe Machine CNC Operator
Key Responsibilities: 1. Read and interpret PCRs and engineering drawings before starting machining operations.
2. Set up CNC lathe machines accurately, ensuring correct tooling and parameters.
3. Operate CNC lathe machines to perform turning, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
4. Monitor machines during operations and ensure quality of finished products.
5. Record labour hours and maintain accurate production documentation.
6. Top up oils, coolant, and perform daily preventive maintenance on machines according to the checklist.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machines and workbenches.
8. Identify and suggest improvements for tooling and machining processes.
9. Report any Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to the Assistant Production Manager or Workshop Foreman immediately.
10. Follow safe work practices, QHSE policies, and environmental guidelines at all times. 11. Perform other assignments as required by supervisors.
Accountabilities:
1. Meet daily and weekly production schedules.
2. Ensure smooth, efficient, and uninterrupted machine operations.
3. Maintain product quality and minimize rework or scrap.
4. Ensure the workplace remains tidy, safe, and hazard-free.
5. Report unsafe acts or environmental concerns to supervisors
Skills & Competencies:
Proficient in CNC lathe operations: turning, boring, and threading.
Ability to prepare and run CNC programs.
Knowledge of tooling and machine setup.
Competent in performing daily preventive maintenance.
Ability to inspect in-process production for quality compliance.
Awareness of QHSE standards and safe work practices.
Education & Qualifications:
Minimum High School / Secondary School (10th or 12th pass) from a recognized board.
ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Machining, CNC Operations, or Fitter Trade is preferred.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of reading engineering drawings and CNC programming.
