Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Advisor to oversee and manage all legal matters related to leasing, property management, tenant agreements, and regulatory compliance for our co-working spaces. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel on leasing contracts, dispute resolution, commercial property laws, and ensure all transactions are legally sound and aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate leasing agreements, licensing contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and other legal documents.
Advise management on legal risks, rights, and obligations related to commercial real estate and tenancy laws.
Ensure company practices align with local, state, and national property and zoning regulations.
Handle legal aspects of tenant onboarding, terminations, renewals, and evictions.
Liaise with external counsel on litigation, dispute resolution, or complex legal matters.
Maintain records of legal documents, lease abstracts, compliance files, and contracts.
Support business development and operations teams with legal input on new property acquisitions, subleasing, and franchise models.
Develop and implement internal legal policies, templates, and compliance frameworks.
Assist in resolving tenant or vendor disputes, breach of lease issues, or enforcement of lease terms.
Monitor changes in laws or regulations that could impact the business and proactively advise relevant teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; Master’s degree or specialization in Property or Commercial Law is a plus.
Licensed to practice law in [insert jurisdiction].
4+ years of legal experience in real estate, leasing, or commercial property law (experience in co-working, hospitality, or flexible office space is an advantage).
Strong understanding of commercial leasing, landlord-tenant law, contract law, and zoning regulations.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with property developers, REITs, or flexible workspace operators.
Familiarity with lease management systems or real estate CRMs.
Multijurisdictional legal exposure
