We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Assistant to join our fragrance development team. The ideal candidate will assist perfumers and chemists in the formulation, testing, and evaluation of perfumes and aromatic compounds. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory practices, keen attention to detail, and a passion for working in the fragrance industry.
Assist in the preparation and weighing of raw materials for fragrance formulations.
Support perfumers in sample blending and documentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory equipment and workspace.
Accurately label and store fragrance samples and raw materials.
Conduct routine tests and record data on perfume stability, color, and odor.
Maintain inventory of lab supplies, including raw materials and solvents.
Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Assist in the preparation of evaluation kits and sample shipments.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and assist with documentation for regulatory and quality control purposes.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
Prior experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in cosmetics, fragrance, or chemical industries.
Basic understanding of chemical handling and laboratory safety protocols.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and a keen sense of smell.
Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with olfactory evaluations or sensory panels.
Familiarity with GMP/GLP standards and ISO procedures in a fragrance or cosmetic lab.
Knowledge of fragrance raw materials and regulatory guidelines (IFRA, GHS, etc.).
Laboratory setting with exposure to various aromatic compounds.
Requires wearing protective gear such as gloves, lab coat, and safety glasses.
May involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
