We are looking for a skilled Desktop Engineer to provide desktop support to our internal users in a fast-paced office environment. As a key member of the IT support team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading desktop systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for our team. You should be able to handle a variety of tasks, from hardware repairs to software installation, and ensure optimal system performance for all users in the office.
Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software (Windows/Linux).
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software and hardware issues to internal employees.
Resolve desktop-related problems including system errors, application issues, and peripheral malfunctions.
Perform regular updates, patches, and software upgrades to maintain system security and performance.
Set up and maintain desktop workstations, ensuring all necessary peripherals (printers, monitors, etc.) are functional.
Assist in the installation and configuration of office-related software and tools (MS Office, Adobe, etc.).
Manage and support internal IT equipment, including computers, printers, and other office devices.
Document technical issues, resolutions, and inventory in the helpdesk/ticketing system.
Collaborate with the IT team for network troubleshooting and to ensure all users have proper system access.
Provide training and support for employees on new software, hardware, and tools as required.
1-2 years of proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and MS Office suite.
Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Experience with troubleshooting desktop hardware and software issues.
Good understanding of Active Directory, user management, and system configurations.
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with internal users.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, MCSA, or similar are a plus but not mandatory.
