Role Purpose:

To ensure a clean, hygienic, and safe environment in the hospital by maintaining patient rooms, wards, ICUs, operation theatres, and common areas as per infection control and hospital housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OPDs, waiting areas, washrooms, and corridors.

• Perform dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitization of assigned areas.

• Handle biomedical waste and general waste as per hospital protocols.

• Disinfect high-touch surfaces, medical equipment (non-clinical cleaning), and furniture regularly.

• Ensure timely change of bed sheets, pillow covers, and hospital linens.

• Assist in laundry collection and distribution of cleaned linens.

• Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines strictly.

• Report maintenance issues (plumbing, electrical, damages) to supervisors.

• Maintain cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies in good condition.

• Support nursing and hospital staff in maintaining a safe patient care environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8th/10th pass (can be relaxed for experienced staff).

• Prior housekeeping experience in a hospital/healthcare setup preferred.

Skills Required:

• Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitization practices.

• Understanding of biomedical waste segregation.

• Attention to detail and discipline.

• Physical stamina for long working hours.

• Ability to follow instructions and SOPs carefully.

Work Environment:

• Hospital premises including wards, OTs, ICUs, and general areas.
