Facility Manager

Core Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Operations:

  Ensuring building systems (like electricity, water, HVAC, and fire safety) are functioning correctly and implementing both preventive and reactive maintenance. 

• Safety and Compliance:

  Upholding all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure the building is safe for occupants and meets legal standards. 

• Contractor and Vendor Management:

  Negotiating and managing contracts with external providers for services such as cleaning, security, catering, and IT support. 

• Budgeting and Financial Management:

  Overseeing and managing the facility's financial aspects, including preparing and managing budgets and optimizing costs. 

• Space Management:

  Effectively utilizing and allocating space within a facility to maximize efficiency and meet the organization's needs. 

• Sustainability:

  Implementing practices and initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and the overall environmental impact of the facility. 

Strategic & Leadership Aspects

• Strategic Planning:

  Developing long-term plans for building maintenance, facility upgrades, and energy efficiency. 

• Stakeholder Communication:

  Acting as a liaison between different departments, management, tenants, and external service providers. 

• Team Leadership:

  Supervising, training, and managing a team of facility staff, including maintenance, cleaning, and security personnel. 

• Crisis Management:

  Leading and managing responses to emergencies and crises within the facility. 

• Occupant Satisfaction:

  Ensuring the built environment is comfortable, functional, and meets the needs of the people who use it.
