Position Title: Barista
Department: Food & Beverage / Café Operations
Reports To: Café Manager / Supervisor
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items while delivering excellent customer service. They ensure the café maintains a welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and efficient service.
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as espresso, coffee, teas, and specialty drinks, according to standardized recipes.
Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations when asked.
Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and brewers.
Ensure product quality, presentation, and timely service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
Manage cash register operations, process payments, and balance cash drawers.
Stock and replenish inventory, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
Engage with customers to create a welcoming, friendly environment.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and promptly.
Assist in opening and closing duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or food service environment is an advantage.
Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment operation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
Positive attitude, team spirit, and customer-focused approach.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift and carry items up to 10–15 kg.
Comfortable working with hot equipment and beverages.
