Key Responsibilities:
sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials, components, and services needed for production. They manage inventory levels, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with internal departments like production to align purchasing with manufacturing schedules and company needs. Other duties involve performing cost analysis, market research, and ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
Supplier and vendor management
Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and develop new ones.
Evaluate supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders.
Procurement and inventory management
Source materials, components, and services required for manufacturing and production.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure material availability.
Manage purchase orders and ensure they are processed and sent to suppliers accurately.
Track the status of orders to ensure timely delivery.
Implement strategies like just-in-time (JIT) procurement to optimize inventory and reduce costs.
Compliance and reporting
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, costs, and market conditions.
Conduct cost analysis and stay informed about market trends and new procurement methods.
Collaboration and communication
Work closely with internal departments, especially production planning, to understand their needs and align procurement activities.
Communicate with other departments like finance to ensure proper handling of invoices and payments.
Job Requirements:
The minimum qualification for this role is Diploma and 1 - 5 years of experience. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
