Responsibilities
Responsible for procurement of construction materials, tools, and services.
Coordinate with project/site teams to understand material requirements.
Issue enquiries, obtain quotations, and perform comparative analysis.
Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions with vendors.
Finalize and issue purchase orders using systems.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to project locations.
Maintain vendor records, rate contracts, and material quality data.
Identify and develop new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
Monitor market prices, availability, and alternate materials.
Follow up with suppliers for delivery and resolve delays or disputes.
Ensure all purchases comply with company policy and quality standards.
Prepare and submit purchase reports to management regularly.
Coordinate with stores, accounts, and transport departments.
Handle emergency and bulk purchases for fast-track projects.
Required Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Sound knowledge of construction materials and specifications
Familiarity with local and national supplier markets
Understanding of GST, transport laws, and basic commercial terms
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Tally
Strong planning, coordination, and time management
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Education & Experience:
Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing within the construction industry
