We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level MEP Design Engineer to assist in the design, drafting, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role will involve working under the guidance of senior engineers to produce high-quality, code-compliant designs and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design of mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems in accordance with relevant standards (IS, NBC, NFPA, IEC, ASHRAE).
Assist in load calculations (cooling/heating loads, electrical load estimation, water demand, drainage flow rates).
Prepare preliminary equipment sizing and selection under supervision.
Prepare MEP layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
Maintain and update design documentation, BOQs, and schedules.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure design compatibility.
Participate in internal design review meetings.
Assist in site surveys, measurements, and verification of MEP installations against drawings.
Support senior engineers in reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings.
Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Stay updated with the latest MEP design practices, codes, and software.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or related field).
AutoCAD (mandatory), Revit MEP / BIM (preferred).
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Basic understanding of HVAC fundamentals (airflow, duct sizing, psychrometrics).
Basic understanding of electrical basics (load calculation, cable sizing, SLD).
Basic knowledge of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, slope requirements).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a multidisciplinary environment.
