We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual reports. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
General Accounting: Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Audit Support: Assist in the preparation for audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting the external audit team.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, and analyze variances to ensure financial goals are met.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales tax, VAT, and other regulatory reports. Support tax-related tasks including year-end tax return preparation.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and increase efficiency across financial operations.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting clerks, providing guidance and ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of tax laws and compliance regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.
