Key responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

  • Perform and oversee general ledger entries and account reconciliations.

  • Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide management with insights and recommendations.

  • Prepare project-specific cost accounting, revenue recognition, and expense allocations.

• Real Estate Specifics:

  • Manage financial transactions related to property acquisitions, development, sales, and leasing.

  • Coordinate with property management companies on accounting inquiries and issues.

  • Maintain records and perform reconciliations for bank and escrow accounts.

• Tax and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and other local filings.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).

  • Coordinate with CAs for tax return filings.

• Operational and Strategic Support:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments and client billing.

  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.

  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and internal controls.

  • Assist in preparing legal documentation and collaborating with legal teams on financial matters.

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. 

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for real estate experience.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally) and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
