Job Summary
As a Assistant Manager for Accounts your responsibilities include reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments to external partners and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts. To be successful in this role, you should have a Finance or Accounting background and be familiar with bookkeeping. Ultimately, you will ensure that process of all financial transactions accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
Maintain accurate day-to-day accounting in Tally/ERP
Prepare Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow, and financial statements
Manage accounts payable & receivables, vendor reconciliation
Ensure bank reconciliation, payroll entries, and expense reports
Monitor outstanding payments and ensure timely follow-ups
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements.
Produce budgets and monitor variances as per schedule.
Ensure the security of financial information through regular database backups
Document financial transactions by entering account information
Summarize current financial status through preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other reports
2. GST & Taxation (Main Role)
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/yearly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9)
Manage Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation
Handle TDS returns, TCS, Income Tax compliance
Coordinate with auditors for Tax Audit & Statutory Audit
Address GST notices, queries, and departmental communications.
Applicable sections, deduction rules, return filings, and payment processes
Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), and Professional Tax (PT) computations, payments, and returns.
3. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all company financial practices adhere to legal & statutory requirements
Prepare MIS reports, monthly financial summaries, and analysis
Support management with budgeting and forecasting
Maintain documentation for internal and external audits
Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Support month-end and year-end financial close procedures.
Capable of assisting during internal and external audits to meet compliance standards
4. Leadership & Growth Responsibilities
Maintains confidentiality and ensures accuracy in all financial documentation.
Software Proficiency
Should train and guide junior accountants
Ability to take complete ownership of the Accounts Department within 1 year
Support management in financial decision-making, cost control, and planning
