Job Title: Accountant

Overview

The Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial planning and decision-making. This role involves maintaining ledgers, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and assisting with audits and tax filings.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Recording & Reporting

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.

• Produce timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial transactions.

Budgeting & Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

• Perform variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted expectations.

• Provide financial insights to support management decision-making.

Compliance & Auditing

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and internal policies.

• Prepare documentation for external and internal audits.

• Support tax preparation activities and ensure regulatory filings are submitted on time.

Process Improvement

• Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend improvements.

• Implement and maintain accounting systems and software tools.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with other departments to verify and validate financial information.

• Provide financial guidance and respond to inquiries from management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA or ACCA certification (preferred but not required).

• 2–4 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

• Office or hybrid work environment.

• May require occasional extended hours during reporting periods or audits.
