Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the overall accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the company’s financial planning. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and guide junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain and oversee day-to-day accounting activities.

• Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.

• Prepare and review general ledger entries.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Perform variance analysis and present financial reports to management.

• Review balance sheet schedules and rectify discrepancies.

3. Taxation & Compliance

• Handle GST, TDS, PT, and other statutory compliances.

• Prepare and file tax returns within deadlines.

• Coordinate with auditors for internal and statutory audits.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide insights.

5. Payroll & Banking

• Oversee payroll processing and ensure statutory deductions.

• Manage bank reconciliations and cash flow management.

• Coordinate with banks for necessary documentation and transactions.

6. Process Improvements

• Implement best accounting practices.

• Recommend and improve internal financial controls.

• Support automation of accounting processes.

7. Team Leadership

• Guide junior accountants and support staff.

• Review their work and ensure timely completion of tasks.

• Provide training and help improve team performance.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

• CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred (optional).

• Minimum 4–7 years of experience in accounting.

• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory regulations.

• Proficiency in Tally ERP, Excel, and accounting software.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Salary Range:

As per industry standards and experience.
